Dr. Richard Quadracci is a philanthropist whose inherent altruistic qualities motivate him to support organizations in an effort to improve human welfare. Dr. Quadracci, along with his siblings, oversee the Windhover Foundation, a private foundation originally established by his late parents in 1983, to facilitate philanthropic efforts on a larger scale. The Foundation seeks to support non-profit organizations and social service agencies including women's centers, hospices, libraries, arts centers, playgrounds, parks, food pantries and more. Locally, the Foundation has supported food pantries including a mobile food pantry distribution at a local elementary school. The Foundation has also served as Presenting Sponsor for "My Hollywood Pride" whose mission is to provide a space where everyone is welcome for three consecutive years. Dr. Quadracci is a distinguished member of several Executive Boards throughout South Florida including Safe Schools South Florida and our very own NSU University School's Board of Advisors as Vice Chairman, In 2021, Dr. Quadracci was presented with the Community Cooperation of the Year Award by Florida Police Athletic League of Hallandale Beach.

Dr. Quadracci earned a B.A. in Physics with Honors from University of Chicago and later went on to pursue his Ph.D. at Columbia University in Mechanical Engineering. He established the Quadracci Sustainable Engineering Lab at Columbia University and serves as an Advisor to the Lab's Board. The program seeks to improve access to resources in developing countries using computational techniques and emerging technologies. The lab is currently working on projects to improve energy programs in Uganda, Nigeria, and India.

Richard Quadracci is committed to building strong communities and is making an impact through his acts of service and charitable contributions on a local and global scale. Most importantly, Dr. Quadracci is father, along with his ex-husband, Emilio Cabrera, to their 8-year-old son, Ricky, a current NSU University School student in 2nd grade.
